New XCOM2 footage shown at Gamescom by Garth DeAngelis, Senior Producer at Firaxis. Set 20 years after XCOM: Enemy Unknown and assuming we lost in the previous game, we can now play our team on the underdog side.
DeAngelis shows to TwitchTV a lot of out-of-combat gameplay footage, leaving fans drooling over the new layers of base management (now in a repurposed stolen alien ship), weapon and soldiers customization and Geoscape gameplay with random “bad events” to manage.
And, above all, the two features fans wanted most: procedurally generated levels and full modding support (thanks, Long War). Kudos to Firaxis for listening!
