Date: 21-05-2016 / 21-05-2016
Location: Watershed - 1 Canon's Road, Bristol, BS1 5TX

A one-day hackathon type event, with a cash prize and a free lunch!

Work with The Bristol API to innovate a creative solution that aims to reduce pollution by tackling a key transportation issue.

In this second Bristol Open Data Challenge, we will seek innovative and creative answers to the following:

How can we use data to help create a city that has better air quality, and has fewer single-occupancy vehicles guzzling gas and contributing to congestion? You may wish to think about:

– Making it easier to use electric vehicles by finding nearby free charging points.

– Maximising the capacity of existing vehicles on the roads, whether this be buses, cars, or other vehicles.

– Promoting the use of other sustainable forms of transport.

The Bristol API makes it easy for developers to connect their application to a wealth of transport data.
Whether you’re creating a visualisation, building an app, website, connected device or customer information display, the Bristol API provides live bus and train times, stop locations, route maps, journey planning, car park occupancy, electric vehicle charge points, and more.

You will need to bring your own laptop for this event. If you do not have one, please contact us in advance and we should be able to provide one for you.
